Display Power Management problem on Slack 10!

When i turn on DPMS option in xorg.conf (section "monitor") my monitor starts to turn of and on randomly. For example in the midle of Q3 game, or when screensaver starts. I havent had that problem with Xfree86 4.3 in 9.1 version (I used 2.6.7 kernel with 1.0-5336 nvidia drivers). Is it Xorg bug, unoptimized nvidia driver or something else?

I'm running 2.6.7 with 1.0-5336 nvidia drivers on Slack 10.

just check K > Settings > Control Centre > Power Control and if in the box Power Off after has a value in it...

coz i did have the same problem where the monitor kept going off suddenly while using...

what i did was to disable Display Power Management in the control centre and using the command line...

for eg... bash$ xset dpms 0 0 180 (would auto switch off the monitor after 3 minutes of inactivity) after that just type bash$ xset -q it does show some use full info...

nvidia 6106 drivers

I just installed new nvidia drivers 1.0-6106 and it solved the problem. I also recompiled kernel with 4k stacks option, and without nvidia riva fb (required by new driver).

Everything works great.
