disabling auto-indentation in Kate (3.3.1 in KDE 4.3.1)

I'd like to turn off automatic indentation in Kate. The "C Style" option keeps checking itself in Tools->Indentation (for C/C++ files) and I can't seem to find a way to make it stay on "None", even on a per-file basis. I've tried disabling all plug-ins, setting default indentation to "None" in the settings, and I searched all of the menus and settings (and Google) numerous times. Thanks!

Sorry, I forgot I'm running FreeBSD for this one! I normally run Slackware. Not sure what forum this should go into now, but maybe it applies to Slackware, also. Thanks!
