Of course, I didn't succeed! Well, here's my /var/log/messages:

root@darkstar:~# tail /var/log/messages
Jan 15 22:30:39 darkstar insmod: Warning: loading /lib/modules/2.4.26/misc/hsfosspec.o will taint the kernel: non-GPL license - Copyright (C) 1996-2001 Conexant Systems Inc. All Rights Reserved.
Jan 15 22:30:39 darkstar insmod: See http://www.tux.org/lkml/#export-tainted for information about tainted modules

Jan 15 22:30:39 darkstar insmod: Module hsfengine loaded, with warnings
Jan 15 22:30:39 darkstar insmod: Module hsfserial loaded, with warnings
Jan 15 22:31:25 darkstar kernel: CSLIP: code copyright 1989 Regents of the University of California
Jan 15 22:31:25 darkstar kernel: PPP generic driver version 2.4.2
Jan 15 22:31:25 darkstar pppd[335]: pppd 2.4.2 started by root, uid 0
Jan 15 22:31:26 darkstar pppd[335]: Exit.

And about ppp0. I didn't underst&. I chose in KPPP Device Tab my modem as
/dev/modem. If I press "Ask modem" button, all's ok. But ppp0 isn't found!
I think, I don't need symlink from /dev/modem to, say, /dev/ttyS0; my modem is
in "upper" PCI. But how to set up ppp0???

you can also goto www.linuxant.com to checkout their driver. they also have a scanmodem script to tell you what your chipset you have. they only downside is they driver is not free if you want full 56k speed. What I did rather then pay for their driver I bought a real modem Best Data 56sx-92 which is a serial hardware modem on www.pricewatch.com for a dollar more than linuxants driver. their are also harware isa and pci modems but a serial modem is the best compatabilty.

I'm not going to buy a new modem. There MUST be the way to get my ZyXel56kOmniPlusPCI working (with Conexant HSF chipset). May be there's smth wrong with my kernel? I used default 'bare.i' image while Slackware installation and Chose 'Install kernel from Slackware CD'. And does anybody here know HOW to be with "ppp0 - no such device" while pppd tries to run???

Try linking ttyS? (from 0 to 9) to /dev/modem or specifying eacj of these devices. PCI modems are usually above ttyS3.
Do as I suggested before and remove everything in /etc/ppp. then reinstall ppp, kdenetwork and rp-pppoe(if installed). If you want to use kppp do NOT run pppsetup, just do all the setup with kppp and try each device as above.
