dhcpd --help
I have tried all i can to get Slack9 be a dhcp server but i have failed.
First during the installation process it does not ask me whether i want to run a DHCP server, but asks to specify a DHCP server for the slack to get its IP addresses. I have my Slack assigned a static IP address but i also want it to be a DHCP server for my windows clients. I have tried adding the following to rc.local but doesn't help: /sbin/dhcpd I have created a custom script rc.dhcpd by editing the samba one but it does not run dhcpd. I have my dhcpd.conf in /etc okay. I have looked at rc.inet1 and there is nothing to uncomment regarding DHCP server. Only stuff on dhcpcd (dhcp client). How does one get it running automatically at boot. Eric |
