dhcp - missing rc.dhcpd script

DHCP (server and client) package doesn't contain init script, so I had to write one myself. Dnsmasq on the other hand comes with pre-packaged one. Is that intentional or bug? And if it is bug, could someone from Slackware team fix this, so it could be included in Slackware 14 final release?

Such a script has never been included in Slackware, so you can not call it a bug that it is not there where you want it.
I have had a rc.dhcpd for many years here: http://slackware.com/~alien/rc_scrip...ripts/rc.dhcpd

Yeah, I also had a vague sense something was missing, so I asked for inclusion of the script in the official Slackware, since I'd rather use DHCPD + Bind than Dnsmasq.

Shouldn't eat more than 0.5 kB space on the DVD ;)

And what is the reason behind not including rc.dhcpd? If any other widely used software (MySQL, sshd, cups, httpd, ...) that comes from official Slackware package has it's own rc script, why not dhcpd? Personally, I would rather run Dnsmasq than dhcpd, but I can't because I also need authoritative DNS server. So dhcpd + BIND/Unbound/Knot is the only option.

This looks to me like a big fat vote for including rc.dhcpd.
