/dev/fd0 is not a valid block device

/dev/fd0 is not a valid block device
------------------------------------------------
Hello,

I am using slackware 10.1 and unfortunately I can not mount
fd0 floppy disk. A message appears:

"/dev/fd0 is not a valid block device"

When I try to mount floppy, the LED on it light
and the motor give a few rotations and stops.

My floppy works fine when I boot from RAWRITE boot imager.

I am using slackware 10.1 with kernel2.4 and kernel2.6

Thank you for your help

The mounting works fine when a floppy disk is inserted.
The same case appears for CDROM drive.
