Can anyone help? I have tried all sorts of different things like /dev/input/mice and explorerps/2. I just can't quite figure it out. I installed the synaptics driver and I can't get it to modprobe. Can anyone help?

i assumed that you modprobed as root. lsmod to see if its already loaded. its probably not. also check dmesg to make sure that the kernel actually sees it and if you get any errors paste them here
