Delete old removed_packages before upgrade?

I don't look at /var/log/removed_packages very often, but after upgrading my laptop from 14.0 to 14.1, I noticed that I've got removed packages dating back to Slackware 13.0 in 2009. That was the last time I did a full install on this laptop. Since 13.0, I've just been upgrading from one version to the next.

I am curious what others who upgrade Slackware from one version to the next do with /var/log/removed_packages? It seems like the information from more than one release back would be of little value, and even perhaps from the release that was just upgraded from.

You can just delete content of /var/log/removed_packages and /var/log/removed_scripts.

Refer to this thread: Can I delete /var/log/removed_package files ? and Pat Volkerding's answer:

Sure. You can also purge things from /var/log/removed_scripts/ without harm

Thanks. I think I'll delete everything more than a year or so old and just retain recent upgrade history.
