default permissions for home directory
hi all,
i've accidentally used explodepkg as root inside my user home directory this hijacks the permissions of the entire directory, and i was wondering what it should be restored to i noticed my home directory at work is rwxr-xr-x (755), is that what I usually want to set it to? Thanks, Greg |
Depends on your personal preferences, and whether you're the sole user of the machine.
If it's multiuser, and you want them to see all your stuff, go for it. Personally I choose to make home 0700 Cheers, Tink |
