Over the last two weeks, I ran about 200 SlackBuild scripts from SBo through current. The vast majority of these scripts will build without any problems. The few remaining percent will not build and make you spend a few sunny afternoons at home or in your office trying to figure it out.
My advice: wait until the SBo crew has figured it all out, and then go about your compiling business. Otherwise, be prepared to have a hard time with things like gst-plugins-* or Brasero, for example. I don't know why this is so, but the GNOME stuff is especially nasty in requiring new quirks and new cascading build dependencies on every new release of every single application. In my brain, the word "GNOME" sits next to concepts like "waiting line for passports" or "tooth extraction".
