DarkStar login


What is this darkStar login ? And why lilo don't want to be installed automaticly

darkstar is just a generic hostname that is used when one isn't specifed with slackware. And what do you mean lilo don't want to be installed automatically? are you getting errors trying to install it, etc? ellaborate a bit more will help us help you.

But what I have to do with DarkStar login ? I can't enter linux

I guess you have started slackware for the first time.
At the darkstar login prompt, type root and it will log you in.
At this stage you are at run level 3 (command line mode if you like)
depending on your hardware, the command - startx - may give you a gui, or you may need to run a command line utility such as xfree86setup first. The installation help on slackware's home site will give you more guidance - good luck!

Thx, and about lilo, it says that there was an error installing lilo, but it doesn' says the error

You'll probably have to configure lilo in "expert" mode. Doesn't take much of an expert though. I got the same error message when I tried to install lilo automatically...figured it couldn't make heads or tails of my setup (Windows on /dev/hda1, Linux root on /dev/hdb3). The installation went smoothly after I told lilo this.
