Damn those mice...
I was wondering if anyone knew if a *erghm* Microsoft Optical Trackball non-USB mouse was do-able in Slackware 8.1
Of course when the system boots gpm is all good, then I go to startx...my mouse goes insane. There is no option in xf86config either. TIA |
Try turning OFF gpm before you start X

That is a no go, I am wondering if I should just use XF86Setup to configure X.....

Maybe you should just changethe mouse protocol in XF86Config?
Changing it to imps/2 solves the "crazy mouse" problems with USB mice. Perhaps you need the right protocol for your mouse, try them all, and hopefully one will work. HTH -NSKL |
I see that you mouse is non-USB, try changing protocol to
psaux |
neo77777,
Thanks alot, that worked. There I was thinking that I needed to do something special for this new mouse and all I had to do is set it up as a regular ps2, the only problem is that I cannot use the scroll wheel. gadfly |
Add:
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" to core pointer section of XF86Config -NSKL |
