--current , xorg crashes and computer locks up ejecting optical drive
If in kde or xfce, if I use xfce or kde to eject either a dvd or cd, the desktop session crashes out, and then the pc locks up. Anyone else having this issue?

I just updated 32 bit -current today. I popped in a CD and used XFce to eject the CD, that is, right-clicked the CD on the XFce desktop and selected eject. It worked properly.

thank you hitest,
well after your reply I stopped hal while in xfce and did 'eject cdrom' and there was no issue then.
so I removed hal and it's configs, and fdi file, and reinstalled it, and so far so good in both kde and xfce. I rebooted and retried to play it safe, and so far it seems fine.
perhaps I didnt pay enough attention when slackpkg ran --new-config.
the only thing I still have left is that I'm not getting a device notifier pop up if I insert a blank dvd, but I can live with that.
thanks again.
