Current and SlackBuilds

Greetings all!!

I am running Current on a Toshiba M55-S135 laptop and I've been quite happy with it so far. The question I have is this, anyone running Current and has had any problems with any SlackBuilds from SlackBuilds.org?

Just want to find out beforehand of any possible headaches before I start some builds later this evening.

FYI, just about everything worked after install, I only needed to install Wicd to get my Atheros up and running on my WiFi network. The lazy man's way to get it working...........

Looks like the next Slackware release will just as great as all previous releases.

Thanks Pat and the Dev Team!!

I have only built foobillard as a test on my current installation, but all went well. As far as I know there shouldn't be a problem.

I've had good luck so far with:
kaffein, smplayer, pokerth, gparted, transcode.

Yalla-One has provided builds for the new kde4 digikam @

Inkscape does not work, because it requires libsigc++ which afaik does not compile with gcc 4.3 and above.

Dependencies may or may not be a problem, e.g. mplayer slackbuild was fine after first failure indicated directfb was now required but not on board.

The only problem I've run across so far is mythtv. It gives me an error about needing a threaded qt installation.

I found some packages that not compile in slackbuilds (in current of course) could be found
on "http://www.slacky.eu/". Most of their packages work for me (on current).

If you get a package from Slackbuilds.org there is a 99% chance that it will work (whether or not the dependencies play nice is another story though).

Thanks for the feedback all. I'll see what I can and cannot build from SlackBuilds when I get to work later on. So far, Current seems pretty rock solid.
