I'm trying to set up the ipchaser program in Slackwr 9, and am running into problems when i run
# crontab -e

and when i try to edit the file, it returns the message
"insert is illegal in vim mode"
any other methods of how i can work around this is muchly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

use whatever editor you want on the files directly
/etc/crontab
/etc/cron.*
