I've been running KDE 3.3 since the day it came out on download.kde.org. No KDE-related crashes so far. I've been playing MP3's/OGG's/WAVs as events or in Juk and Noatun. Shutdown/Starts are also ok.

Hoever, you problem does look sound-related. How does the crash look like?
- Everything freezes? No mouse, keyboard worky?
- You get a KDE Crash message, with the name of the crashed prog in the title.
- Other.

Well, it just freezes, everything freezes. I can't do a thing.

If it's sound related, do I have to update ,my drivers?

I'm using CM8738 sound card, I'll try using my on board sound to see if anything changes.

Thanks.

Does it freeze for few seconds then lets go, or freezes and stays there forever?

It just freezes forever.

I've upgraded my system with Swaret, upgraded qt-3.3.3, Vis, Samba, Php See if it'll hang.

I notice that you are using 2.6.8.1, Ive upgraded once, but it hanged at boot time.

Try disabling arts (the kde sound daemon) at the control panel (don't remember exactly the options) and see if it stills hangs.

I hate to say it, but I would suspect your hardware. Can you try other OS on this machine to see if it will also have issues? (Windows?)

Nope it doesn't crash on Windows XP , I'll try turning of arts, or the whole sound hardware to see if it's stable.
