Cpu power scaling
 
Hey, um i have a Mobile PII 400mhz laptop. For some reason if i like cat /proc/cpuinfo it shows up saying that i have a 100mhz proc? does anyone know why this happens or how i can fix it? please help thanks.

Thats probably gonna be a power setting of some sort in your bios that you're going to need to check. Basically what it does is slow your CPU when you're not using it all the time or slow it down 100mhz or so to save battery. Mine is a PIII601MHz running at 500 right now cause I am on battery power. Saves you some battery in the end
