"Could not start kdeinit. Check your installation."

I just came off of a fresh install of Slackware 10.2 and when I startx to load KDE, this is the error I'm getting:

"Could not start kdeinit. Check your installation."

I've been searching shit like crazy trying to find a solution to this, and although between linuxquestions.org and Google I've gathered that it has something to do with qt, it seems that no one has posted a definitive fix for it. If anyone knows how to solve this and could post a few specific instructions (I'm not an idiot by any means, but my *n*x skills are somewhat rusty) I would greatly, greatly appreciate it. I'll be checking this thread frequently, so if anyone replies, I'll be right on it with a reply back. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked that you have installed all KDE requirements? The most needed packages are kdebase, kdelibs, qt, and arts (for sound).
If you do, please run pkgtool > setup. You can set which window manager that will be your default

One thing that could cause this is wrong permissions on your home directory and it's contents. I saw it when I moved my /home to a new partition. Had to reset the home ownership and group back to me and user.

Being a new install that's probably not it, but worth a look anyway. If your /home is on a different partition make sure it's mounted and you have access permissions to it.
