Question Could not open default cursor font 'cursor' at startx with slackware 10.2

I am installing slackware 10.2.
When i type in startx as root i recieve this error Message.
Code:
Could not open default cursor font 'cursor' at startx
I am stuck at the terminal screen.

Is there a way to reinstall this cursor font or reinstall x11 all together?

Why are you running the X server as root? Start x as a regular user and su to root from a terminal.

thanks for the reply=)

I added an user account, rebooted and logged in as that user.
I am still getting the "Could not open default cursor font" message.

Is there a way to install the unopenable cursor font from an online repository?

(please be patient. this is all quite unfamilar to me )
