Console font in Slackware 14.1 installer

Hello everybody,

The Slackware 14.1 installer uses a new default font for the console. Any idea which one it is (before I have to try them all out)? I'd like to use it on my LAN servers.

Cheers,

Niki

Terminus taille 14 (nomodeset) ou 20 (KMS)

PS:
Pat's settings: (genuine installer): ter-c14v.psf.gz or ter-120b.psf.gz
Slint's settings for French: ter-116b.psf.gz or ter-120b.psf.gz

Hi,

how do I permanently change the console font in Slackware? Do I put setfont /path/to/font into rc.local?

Just run "setconsolefont" as root.

Just edit /etc/rc.d/rc.font. Here's mine:

Code:

#!/bin/sh
#
# This selects your default screen font from among the ones in
# /usr/share/kbd/consolefonts.
#
setfont -v lat9w-16

Cheers,

Niki

Thanks a lot, kikinovak and Didier Spaier. I didn't find the terminus fonts in setconsolefont's dialog interface, so I went with rc.font. Thanks again.

Regards

lems

This is because Terminus font has been included in Slackware 14.1 but hard-coded list of fonts in setconsolefont has not been updated accordingly yet. Maybe it's because that would add 247 lines to an already long list ;) We could propose for Slackware-next another way to display available fonts as there are now 466...
