Configuring my Intellimouse Explorer in Slackware

I'm trying to get my Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer Optical (usb) to work correctly under Slackware. It functions fine as a two button mouse, but I still have two more side buttons and a wheel that dont work. Strange thing is that Slackware identified the mouse correctly in setup but now it does not. I at least would like to get the mouse wheel working. Anybody have experience with this thing? Thanks.

add this to your XF86Config in the mouse section to get wheel working.

Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
