Configuring audio, video and device permissions
I apologize if this has been asked somwhere else(I kinda feel that it has) I looked around and could not find anything on it.
I'm having trouble getting my user account to watch dvds, eject DVDs and CDs( I can umount them, but then I get an error that says unable to open /dev/sr0) and also burning CDs through nautilus. I cannot even see a selection for the devices in multimedia apps. And of course root has no problem with these tasks. I also cannot hear audio on-line if I'm not root(such as browsing flash enabled sites etc.).
I have user on those devices in fstab. And I was thinking that using the /etc/group file and adding the user to the audio, cdrom and video group would work but it has not. So either I'm doing it wrong or that's not what I should be doing.
Any help would be of course greatly appreciated.
