compiz (core) - Fatal: No composite extension

Installed the lates compiz-fusion according to this thread:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/how-to-install-compiz-on-slackware-12-the-simple-way-nvidia-videocard-584645/?highlight=compiz
I can run glxgears fine: 47891 frames in 5.0 seconds = 9578.058 FPS

I run compiz --replace, and I get: compiz (core) - Fatal: No composite extension

Video Card is a 8600GT with the latest Nvidia Driver on a DRI Infinity Board with a Athlon64 X2.

What gives with Slack12? I've tried different setting in xorg.conf to no avail and I know I have the Option "Composite" "Enable"

Am I still missing something in my xorg.conf?

I don't know wether or not xorg.conf is case sensitive or not, but I have "Composite" "enable" with "e".

T3slider 01-25-2008 01:07 PM

I have the lowercase e as well -- try it and see if it works.

webbruno 10-05-2008 10:38 PM

I know... it'll sound pretty dumb, but, change the "Enable" from the "Composite" option to "on"... after that restart the X (ctrl-alt-backspace)

I had spend one entire day to solve that... it's working fine right now. Let me know if you couldn't get any success.
