Compiled New Kernel but...


i've been able to compile a new kernel but my sound doesnt work anymore i compiled it as a module also i am using a C-Media 8738MX

are you absolutly positive you compiled it ?
double check by typing :
cat /usr/src/linux/.config | grep CONFIG_SND_CMIPCI

and are you sure you are loading the module ?
and if you are, is it loading properly without errors ?
and if the so, the last thing i will ask is, is the volume turned up ?
