Question Compile modules from packages?

Hi,

Is there a possibility to compile modules from a slackware package?
I have installed slackware 10.1 (complete) and Proftpd has no sql-modules. In some docs I 've readed that I need to run ./config --compile*BLABLA*
Is it possible to do this with packages or do I need to download the sources and install it all again?

The same problem I have with the ALSA-drivers, and PHP. They 're all missing some modules in the current instalation.

thx,
WorteL

If you have to enable it while configuring, you'll have to download the sources (or take them from slack CD 3/4) and recompile/install. I wonder why ALSA and PHP miss modules although you did a complete install. I didn't a complete install, didn't install anything that was not on the slackware CD and my ALSA works fine :-)
Could you post some more detailed information? What package do you want to recompile and why? What modules do ALSA and PHP actually miss?

Thanks & Greetings,

Seppel

For PHP it's the postgresql-module and for alsa its a lot of modules to let my ac97 onboard working. But for that ac97 I 'm not shure if its needed to be compiled. But in any case, it don't seem to work. I 've tried to modprobe some stuff (for example via82cxxx_audio) and it returns that it's not existing.

grtz,
