Color.gz on one 3.5" floppy?

Hey, after downloading the slackware-9.0-install.iso and burning it as an ISO, I wasn't able to boot from it so I downloaded the bare.i bootdisk and made it by doing the dd if=bare.i of=/dev/fd0 method. Then after not realizing color.gz is over two megs, I tried it the same way. Am I supposed to split these into two different discs somehow? the Boot disk I used works fine but then of course the root disk doesn't work. What am I doing wrong or not understanding?

Thanks
