Clone Slackware onto Bigger Drive

I've got a question regarding the cloning of my Slackware drive onto a bigger partition. It's not a Slackware-specific question, but I figured someone here might have some insight. Basically what I've got is a 120 GiB drive I was using to boot Slackware. I then mounted a third hard drive inside of my PC (500 GiB) that I wanted to clone the Slackware image onto. But I don't want this drive to be solely used for Slackware so I partitioned off about a 250 GiB chunk for it. Using gddrescue I cloned the image. It booted fine and everything looked good other than Slackware still only seems to think it's got 120 GiB to work with. My question is how can I make it recognize the full 250 GiB, or how can I go a different route to utilize the extra space? Is there some way I can just clone it directly and then go about resizing it afterwards? The first thing I tried was to clone it directly and then attempt to resize it afterwards. However, GParted wouldn't seem to let me resize it so I went this other route of setting up the partitions beforehand. Anyways, enough info, if someone's got experience with this and can offer some advice, it'd be appreciated.

If this is EXT4 (or 3 or 2) resize2fs should work.
running
Code:
resize2fs /dev/sdXX
on the unmounted partition should resize the fs to fit the partition.

fsck the filesystem afterwards
Code:
e2fsck -fv /dev/sdXX

If you need to copy a slackware partition onto another partition or HD then reconfigure the target partition, the basic steps are:
-boot with a livecd
-format target
-mount source and target partitions
-copy everything from source to target
-reconfigure your boot loader. I use grub, so to boot from the new partition, edit menu.lst and re-run grub on target partition.
-edit fstab on target partition to change any partition references if needed.

Thanks for the different pieces of advice - I ended up using GParted; my problem was that since the swap partition was physically located to the right of the ext3 one, I could resize the ext3 until I moved the swap partition to the end of the drive. Once I did that, I was able to drag the ext3 partition and make it much bigger. Afterwards, I ran a e2fsck on the drive and everything came back good and it was able to boot and recognize the additional space.
