Clarification on the slacpkg + article

Alien bob has written this article, I am.just about to do a new install on a laptop and haven't used slacpkg+ before.

the reference to current slackers-current is the rolling version of slackware not the most recent release? so he is using the latest release but pulling from current when desired.

article reference http://alien.slackbook.org/blog/introducing-slackpkg-an-extension-to-slackpkg-for-3rd-party-repositories/

Current is the development snapshot for the next slackware release
Slackpkg+ can be configured to follow stable or current, depending on which mirror site you used

Ok so from the article it appears ok to mix them, slackware and slackware-current, that seems though it would be a bit dangerous.

Actually is dangerous mixing them (read: don't do it!), but I think you misunderstand the article: from what I have understood there the stable repository is configured just as a fallback through priorities (it's explained in the same article).

never ever mixed between stable and current release
at some point (when a new stable release), current = stable, but at some point, it will start to diverge and this is where you should make a decision whether to follow stable or current

I have now added an additional "NOTE" to the article, with a more detailed explanation of its usage, and a warning not to mix repositories for different versions of Slackware.
