I downloaded chromium 14 from http://build.chromium.org/official/ and its slackbuild from slackbuilds.org. I installed dependencies one by one which it kept asking(libevent, gconf, Orbit2, gnome-keyring). But the slackbuild when run is still throwing error "Package gnome-keyring-1 not found or something".
Has anybody successfully installed recent chromium version in slackware 13.37? Any pointers on how to solve this?

Try removing the SlackBuilds.org GConf and ORBit2 packages and using the ones from /extra instead: http://slackware.osuosl.org/slackwar...google-chrome/. I had a similar problem with another packages (gksu, if you're interested), and using the official Slackware packages fixed the "Package gnome-keyring-1 not found" problem.
Hu? Mhhhh I beg to differ.... Chromium and Chrome are to different browser. Chromium is a clone of chrome.
Under the hood they are twins but they do have some features that do not cross to chrome.
I installed chromium a few days ago with no issues. I installed all the dependecies need it to run chrome as listed in ftp://carroll.cac.psu.edu/pub/linux/...google-chrome/ .... All I had to do is install gnome-keyring, chromium and it worked.
Chromium and Chrome share the same base source code, and Chromium is actively developed by Google. In order to make Chrome, they take the Chromium source code, build binaries and include some plugins (such as Flash and a PDF viewer) into the Chrome installers.
