when i downloaded the iso file, i found this md5 file as well.

How should i use this file? should i burn it onto the CD with the iso file?

and there is also a slackware-9.0-install.iso.asc file, what is it for ? should it be on the CD too?

MD5 sums are used for checking the validity of iso images - you don't need to burn them but you should use them to check that the iso did download correctly.
