Changing a GTK2 theme

I have a few apps running on gtk2, such as evolution, gaim... I am running kde 3.2.
My question is: how do you change the gtk2 theme so that the colours those applications use are the ones I want?
I just can't find out...
Help please!

you can just use a third party app like gtk-theme-switch, or just use the gnome control center, gnomecc.
