Slack uses the file /etc/HOSTNAME to store the full cannonical name of the machine. Simply change that file as desired and then reboot. If you do not want to reboot then change the file as desired and then use the commands "hostname new_name" and "dnsdomainname new_domain". The two commands without any arguments will return current values. More info can be found with "man hostname".
You might also want to review the /etc/hosts file for any changes.
