Ugh!!! Thanks. Allthough, I was reading some work arounds in the Debian FAQ System dealing with a kernel upgrade and config to 3.3.x+. I honestly did not want to go through such a hassle since i am inexperienced in the subject matter. But with the same laptop I was able to at least get a basic VESA 800X600 on the newer kernel distros (example: ubuntu, fedora...) but on slackware "start x" is quick to crash perhaps because its a 2.6.x? I also have a problem with my second laptop (both new) as I traded in my old ones (wish I kept them)... the 2nd one has an "ATI Radeon™ HD 6250 Graphics"... Again startx crashes so i never can experience my kde. But I will post that in another thread. Thanks for quick reply.
