Unhappy cd-burning as non-root

Last night I succesfully installed 'CD Bake Oven '
to burn cdr-discs.

however, I was not able to write to disc when I was logged in as an ordinary user.
When logged in as root it was no problem .

the question: how/where to change permissions , to enable
ordinary users to run cd-burning programs ?

Create a group cdwrite for instance, make users you want to burn cd's members of this group, and change group and permissions on cdrecord to sgid bit -
chown root:cdwrite /usr/bin/cdrecord
chmod 2755 /usr/bin/cdrecord
You might need to do for all cdr-tools applications (mkisofs, cdda2wav, etc)

Is this the most easy way to do it ?

I would like to know the exact syntax for changing these
permissions .

If I dont create a group for cdwriting, is it enough to change permissions to all programsfiles ?

I second this motion, all you have to do is add your user/s to the xcdwrite group.

Have you tried ERoaster? It's pretty much as easy to use as CDBO, but seems to be more reliable. Not had any problems with it at all, not even permissions stuff.
