Catalyst 9.1 and PCI_MSI

Hi all,

I am currently having some problems with the latest catalyst drivers from ATI. I have a mobility X200M and everytime i try to gt FGLRX to initialize i get:

Code:
fglrx: Unknown symbol pci_disable_msi
fglrx: Unknown symbol pci_enable_msi
I read online that you need PCI_MSI enabled in the kernel so i did that and it is now set to <y> as well as the APIC pre-requisites. But unfortunately still no dice.

I have built the packages for my kernel from the ATI installer and have tried using those but am still out of luck.

Any Ideas?

Thanks.

I just been there with Slack 12.2 kernel. Not yet changed the kernel config here in order to try Catalyst 9.1 (still running very well, Catalyst 8.12)

Also likely noteworthy, 1 the above links, my resolved IRQ problem issue vis a vis "yes, OS *is* a plug and play OS" (which is *not* a default bios setting of a very late Asus pentium 4 motherboard) -- default bios setting is *no* OS is not plug and play -- which makes bios, *not* the OS assign IRQ's, -- evidently also this conflicts with udev

but, I changed bios setting as per above to *yes* (OS assigns resources) yes plug and play OS

Linux likes to do (plug and play) it.

Alan.

Missed that. Evidently you changed the kernel config. No ideas here.

Yes I run a custom 2.6.27.7 kernel which is optimized for my system.

I'll have a look at the above links though and see if i missed anything.

Thanks.

Well for whatever reason, i rebuilt the package (3rd time) and re-ran through all the steps and now it is working. Strange.

Thanks Alan!
