caps lock in X

somehow, and I think this happened when I was playing with keybindings for multimedia keys, my key binding for the CAPS LOCK key got deleted for X (it works in console). Where's the config file, what part should I show you to help fix this problem, and what should a proper config file contain (if my assumptions about it being a config problem are correct)?

I have
Code:

    <CAPS> =  66;
in /etc/X11/xkb/keycodes/xfree86

bump

I have the same in my /etc/X11/xkb/keycodes/xfree86 but mine works I'm afraid. Did you accidently bind the key to some other function?

I'm pretty sure that I didn't. I was using the gnome multimedia keys daemon (acme) to bind some other keys (shouldn't have affected caps lock), but I have since stopped using it and deleted all the bindings it set up trying to fix this problem.
