Canyon CN-WF513 PCMICIA WiFi card (rt2500) not working on SlackWare 12

I got a Canyon CN-WF513 PCMCIA WiFi card that, when I had BackTrack2, ran perfectly. I now have gone to SlackWare 12.

I have compiled & installed the rt2500 legacy drivers from the rt2x00 project, and it seems to install fine, but the PWR and LINK leds of my PCMCIA card doesn't lit up. I have verified that the leds are not broken, because when I insert the card, the PWR led lights up for a short time.

When runnning commands like 'lspci' and 'iwconfig' it returns info that indicate that the drivers matches the chipset, but it still doesn't work

Please help me figure this out...
