Cant Get X

ok first of all im a Linux Newbie, and my problem is this: i tried to install Slackware 9.1 today and everything went perfectlly except when i try to run kde and gnome, kde went farther than the other 2 cos it shows the screen when is loading everything but at some point it got me back at the console with error messanges which i cant post cos is a lot of text to type and i cant scroll all the page but it says somethinglike this: it seems like DCOPserver isn't running try to remove /root/.DCOPserver_sour__0 and run dcopserver again, which i think i did and then i run again startx and kde now poped up a screen which says "couldn't kdeinit. check your installation" but i dont think is my installation cos i installed like 4 times Slack today because of the same problem two of them were Full installation to avoid a bad installation but the same thing happened

with gnome i got almost the same thing about the DCOP and with wmaker i got back to the console faster wmaker says "could not open display " ""

hope this info is enough

i also want to say that i installed slack9, redhat 8, mandrake 8 mandrake 7.2, suse 6.2 in that machine so everything must be compatible

What does the log file /var/log/XFree86.0.log say about this error ? The lines starting with (EE) are the most interesting in this case.

You'll probably have to reconfigure your X .
