cant delete or change a file


hi
iam using a slackware 10 as a file server.... last night i notice that my file server automatically reboot went my user try to access a file in my server.... i try to find out what going wrong.... and i found out that the file that causing to reboot my system have no file permission "rwxrwxrwx" it disapeared??? cause went i try to run ls -la an error generate like this /usr/bin/ls myfilesermission denied.
i also try to delete but it wont be deleted and it will automatically reboot? went i try to access the files. and also a cant changes the permission "chmod 777 myfile" access denied.....even iam using root account? now i cant run rsync cause went rsync reach the file automatically rebooting my system.....pls help me:-(

You could boot a livecd, mount your hdd and then delete it then. The livecd wouldn't be affected by it I don't think. You also might to run an fsck on your hdd while your there just to see if it's getting to something bad and just craps itself.

you may need to fsck

(please read up on fsck, backups, system recovery, etc. first if you're not familiar with fsck)

sorry for late response
anyway its halooween anyway iam in vacation right now
thk for suggestion i will try it went iam back to the office ....thks! i will try and went successfull i will post it again
