Cant Play Audio CDS!!

I just now got arround to getting my cd burner to be able to mount cd's and all.. havnt tried to write cds yet..and well my other cdrom cant be mounted now.

I have as follows:

Primary Controller ATA 100

hda - DVDrom
hdb - empty
hdc - CDRW
hdd - empty

Secondary Controller ATA 133

hde - 100 Gig Harddrive
hdf - empty
hdg -empty
hdh -empty

SATA Contoller Disabled .. for now..

Now Ive been running slack for a while (this install of it) and never bother to get my cdrw working .. couldnt even mount it. Today I wanted to rip a cd and well windows xp decided that it no longer wanted to work.. ( I have to reinstall it every day seems like ) I created a directory /mnt/cdrw then edited fstab as follows:
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,owner,user,ro 0 0
/dev/cdrw /mnt/cdrw iso9660 noauto,owner,user,ro 0 0

And did ln -sf /dev/hdc /dev/cdrw

Now I can read from my cdrw drive and all that other good stuff...Now I installed a cd ripper program and it gave a error of not being able to read the cd in /dev/cdrom... so I figured.. duh didnt mount it.. and went to go mount it and got a error saying to many devices mounted, bad superblock etc... Tried unmouning.. reported not mounted, tried various ways of mounting some 20 diff ways as root and user and still same errors. This is the cdrom I used to install slack and have used less than 5 minutes before going and tried to get my cdrw working...
