A rather odd issue. I'm running a fresh install of Slackware 11rc1, full install. In Xfce, when I try to use the Mixer applet, it has no device in the dialog box. Sound, however, does work, I just cannot change volume, etc.

Mixer applet in KDE is just fine. If I run Xine in Xfce, for example, I can adjust volume there. That's telling me that the hardware is ok, and the OS is working correctly. It's only in Xfce that I'm getting this issue.

Any ideas? I'll post whatever files you wish, just try to point me in the right direction...

All I did was log into Xfce as root, add the mixer app on the panel, then logged out as root, logged back in as user, and the mixer applet works perfect now.
