can swap be an extndd prtition
 

Can swap and boot be alloted th extended partition.
Thing is I want to dual boot......primary n xtended for XP and pri n extended for slack.

Personally I've never had a problem with it as far as i know. My whole Linux setup on my one PC is in an extended partition. Personally I like my swap on the first part of the drive as the first partition so it can be accessed faster. ;)

You could swap to a file on a floppy if
speed was no concern ;)

In other words, yes, you can swap to extended
partitions :}
