Question can i replace cdrtools with cdrkit in slack 12

I would like to replace the cdrtools in slackware 12 with cdrkit. Is it as straightforward as uninstalling one and replacing with the other?Has any one else done this with success?Cdrkit makes with no errors.I want to do this because cdrtools isnt GPL.Cheers all.

Thumbs up cdrkit?

Well I installed cdrkit and removed cdrtools.Works like a charm and I dont have to read the cdrtools error messages telling me to use Solaris.K3b picked it up right away and with graveman I manually entered the paths to the cdrkit programs.Cheers for the help.

Didn't you have to install libcap first?

Just out of curiosity, what is the advantage of using cdrkit over cdrtools? This is the first time I've even heard of it.

Dunno about any technical advantages.

Some background on cdrkit is here: http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel.../msg00002.html
