try this :
Code:
$ sed -i -e "s/\r$//" /etc/slackpkg/mirrors
Edit: My bad. Don't know why but I was thinking that dos2unix/unix2dos was part of slackware.

Perhaps you were thinking of filters "todos" and "fromdos" which accomplishes the same conversion and come with Slackware.

Thank you. Did not know about fromdos, todos - spent most of my working career in a Sun / Solaris shop (with dos2unix). Now I won't need to fall back to sed (though I probably will, as my mind leaks like a sieve most days)

Me too, though I did know about fromdos / todos on slackware.

Be careful though ! The syntax of fromdos / todos is different than dos2unix / uinx2dos.

While fromdos / todos are filters ( fromdos < DOSFile > UNIXFile ), dos2unix / unix2dos defaults to 'inplace' edits ( dos2unix DOSFILE )...

Here's a link: https://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.1/misc/dos2unix/

Works on current.

HTH.
