Edit: My bad. Don't know why but I was thinking that dos2unix/unix2dos was part of slackware.

Thank you. Did not know about fromdos, todos - spent most of my working career in a Sun / Solaris shop (with dos2unix). Now I won't need to fall back to sed (though I probably will, as my mind leaks like a sieve most days)

Me too, though I did know about fromdos / todos on slackware.
Be careful though ! The syntax of fromdos / todos is different than dos2unix / uinx2dos.
While fromdos / todos are filters ( fromdos < DOSFile > UNIXFile ), dos2unix / unix2dos defaults to 'inplace' edits ( dos2unix DOSFILE )...
