Can't Boot Backtrack 2.0 on LPT, but want use it's wide range of tools
I have a Dell XPS M140. I have downloaded the BT2.iso and burned it to a cd as well as a DVD. I try to boot and it begins the process. It is followed by a black screen. I figure I am just SOL.
I have Madriva on my desktop pc and it runs fine. I was wondering how I could get all those wonderful penetration programs off the BT2 disk and installed on to my desktop, or into a knoppix disk so that I can use them. I can run DSL and Puppy and Knoppix on my laptop with no problem. Could I just boot BT2 on my desktop (which works beatifully) and copy those files to a TAR and put them on another storage media ie disk, thumb drive, or external hd? I just don't want to have to download and install the over 100 programs that the disk already has in working formate. |
Why not just mount the ISO or CD/DVD under Mandriva and copy the needed files/programs to your hard drive?

It Hurts, but sometimes people just have much more common sense than I do.
That is just what I am going to do. Thanks. |
