Question Camcoder ?

Have anyone experience streaming video from camcoder ?
I have firewire card. I think it's already active, when I lspci, it mentioned about VIA IEEE 1394 something like that.
But I don't know how to use it.
At WinXP, I just plugged the cable and automatically detect my camcoder then I streamed with Ulead Video Studio.
How about Slackware ?
Btw, what is the software for editing streaming and editing video ?
Thanks.

I don't have any experience on this, but i have just installed the firewire port on my soundcard, so i at least have some useful links .

If you're using the normal slack kernel (i assume 9.0) then firewire (ieee1394) support is there as kernel modules, which you have to manually load. First check it's there: modinfo ieee1394 as root.
Then load it, modprobe ieee1394 (again as root)
I think you'll then need modprobe ohci1394, then modprobe video1394 .
However, you'd do best to check here and make sure. There are also links for software at the bottom of the video page.

Good luck!
