See CURRENT.TXT in our git repo if you are running slackware-current

Upstream MATE Desktop has started work on their 1.7 development cycle (what will eventually become 1.8 stable release) so Willy and I have branched the MATE SlackBuilds (MSB) into 1.6, which is the stable release and left the 'master' branch for 1.7 development. Essentially, we are mirroring what upstream is doing. Please read the new GIT_BRANCHES.TXT for more information (https://raw.github.com/mateslackbuil...T_BRANCHES.TXT).

Our 14.0 binary packages will still be built from the 1.6 branch since that is the stable release. Basically, we are supporting the latest stable release of MATE on the latest stable release of Slackware.

Thanks to all of the users who have tested MSB. We really appreciate the testing and feedback.

chess or willysr,

It seems that mate-doc-utils is missing from the 14.1 branch. It's still there for 14.0.

Are you sure you're in the 14.1-mate-1.6 git branch and not the master branch? It's there in the base directory of the 14.1-mate-1.6 branch but has been removed from the master branch which is upstream 1.7 development.

Hmmm...I'm not sure what the heck I did now. I think I need more coffee. lol I see willy's note about the removal of mate-doc-utils and being replaced by yelp-tools. Now I gotta figure out what I did because one of the packages was requesting it. Thanks for the quick response.

stormtracknole 12-20-2013 09:35 AM

Sure enough, I'm building from master. Let me start over again...

No problem - hope it sorts itself out!

You're very welcome! Glad it's working.

I did notice a bug of sorts when running mate-appearance-properties. If .gtkrc-2.0 exits in the user's home directory, mate-appearance-properties will run at %100 when launched and WILL remain running at %100 even after it has been closed. Removing the gtkrc file will take care of that. Not sure if that was already discussed here, but search feature didn't show anything. :-)

willysr 12-21-2013 06:23 PM

i do have .gtkrc-2.0 and i can't reproduce the problem here

stormtracknole 12-21-2013 09:12 PM

Weird. This is how I found how to fix it.

I was able to replicate it on my desktop. I first noticed it on my netbook that it was running kind of sluggish.
