cafe press "Official Licensed Slackware Store" genuine?
http://www.cafepress.com/volkerdi
If this is the real deal then I shall buy this for my baby daughter. Hey, why not as her first birthday is coming up anyway. My wife will probably have a WTF moment when she sees our daughter wearing it but that is just an added bonus. ;) I am even tempted to buy this myself and go full on Geek dad. I'm currently on parental leave and figure we'll look great walking around the shops together. ;) |
Yup, that's mine. Glad someone likes that logo. ;)
|
Great, That is what I wanted to hear! And yeah, cool logo!
I had some issues with getting the order through (doesn't seem to work in Opera, plus don't think you can select Amazon payment when shipping to a non-US address even though it lets you try) but I got there in the end. This is Slackware T-Shirt number four for me (I went Cardinal this time as the other three are black and I need to have some variation) and the first for my daughter (I went with the obvious, 'pink' for her). My wife will be over the moon!!! Well actually no she won't ... but she will have a giggle that I bought yet more Slackware stuff. ;) |
I had a problem shipping to Indonesia few years ago
i will try it again today :) |
Whoa! That *IS* a cool logo! Save that and use it for Slackware 'x'!

Any chance to get any of these items with the regular logo on them?
|
I kinda like the logo, but then I also like the old logo, too. I say there's room for both of them. As long as the OS in question retains it's awesome and stability, I'm good.

Unfortunately, the same situation happened again after 5 years. I couldn't finish a transaction at CafePress
Five years ago, the reason was they were not shipping to Indonesia and this time, they couldn't authorize my payment. I have used PayPal and Credit Card and both failed. This is the same credit card used to buy items in Slackware Store last year and they are valid.... |

Good choice! That kindergarten logo is most appropriate for childen's wear. :) (Sorry, couldn't help it. :) Yes, I know, we all have our own opinions and every one has different taste, yada, yada, yada, but that is, without a doubt, the absolutely worst logo ever created for any product or service in the history of mankind. BTW, would love to be able to buy the same coffee mugs with the "real" Slackware logo). |

...wow, from baby jammies to naughties in no time. Slackware really is one-for-all.
The rubber suits and steak sauce are on me. cheers, |

The new American Airlines livery runs a close second place. ;) |

What about a coffee mug with the official logo? I'll buy one with the new one but would prefer the old one. I need a backup for my Bill the Cat mug and it might as well be a Slackware one. |
I'd love to know how many people bought Slack thongs.
|
I quite like the new logo. It's different, though, that's for sure! Pat: think you can slap that logo on a traveler's mug so I can slack while on the bus?
|
Is there a link to, http://www.cafepress.com/volkerdi from the slackware.com site? Couldn't find it.
As opposed to the just one "store" under the "Get Slack" heading, perhaps putting links to both "stores" in the left panel of the main page of the slackware.com site might boost sales? Just a thought. :) |

I just found the site because a Willy Post http://slackblogs.blogspot.com/2013/...are-store.html and there are a lot of things that now I want to buy that are not in the "official store". |
After all this time, I can't believe people are still complaining about the 'flippy' logo!
Personally, I love it and I think some people need to grow a sense of slack. I was a bit disappointed when PV caved in to public pressure and reverted to the old logo. What's the old saying? "F__k 'em if they can't take a joke." Unfortunately, our network access at work has been limited due to a large data transfer taking place, so I can't access the CafePress website. But I'll certainly be checking it out tonight from home. |

Sheesh....
Well.... everyone is entitled to their opinion... :) You need to be able to identify the "product" if you want to promote it... unless, of course, one is of the elitist frame of mind, that is, exclusionary to the point one has to wonder, why bother having a logo at all? Only a Slackware user would have any idea this is suppose to say, Slackware. |

Also, here's the properly rendered version: Attachment 12444 Now give it up or I'll use ol' flippy on the Slackware 14.1 DVD. ;) |

just sayin' |
I wish I lived next door to Cwizardone.
I'd paint the flippy logo on the side of my house (in 6 foot lettering) just to drive him bonkers. Hey Pat, when are you going to put it on some USB sticks? |
I've changed my mind about the ambigram/flippy logo. I like so much now, I'm using it as my wallpaper ( :D ):
|
Brilliant!
Let's telnet into Cwizardone's machine and change his wallpaper! |

I do not want to start another thread on the same issue so I am asking here - is this store http://www.zazzle.com/classic_slackw...78914022094210 also recognized by Patrick? The reason I ask is that they have coffee mugs with an old logo. I like it more than new one. But if money would not go to Patrick or Slackware Inc. in general I would have to think about it.
