If this is the real deal then I shall buy this for my baby daughter. Hey, why not as her first birthday is coming up anyway.

My wife will probably have a WTF moment when she sees our daughter wearing it but that is just an added bonus. ;)

I am even tempted to buy this myself and go full on Geek dad. I'm currently on parental leave and figure we'll look great walking around the shops together. ;)

I had some issues with getting the order through (doesn't seem to work in Opera, plus don't think you can select Amazon payment when shipping to a non-US address even though it lets you try) but I got there in the end. This is Slackware T-Shirt number four for me (I went Cardinal this time as the other three are black and I need to have some variation) and the first for my daughter (I went with the obvious, 'pink' for her).

My wife will be over the moon!!! Well actually no she won't ... but she will have a giggle that I bought yet more Slackware stuff. ;)

It would probably spawn another mega-thread like this one so I think the old logo is here to stay...but at least the flippy one is available on merchandise for those who like it.

I kinda like the logo, but then I also like the old logo, too. I say there's room for both of them. As long as the OS in question retains it's awesome and stability, I'm good.

Since the Slackware store has items with the official logo that we've invested in producing, I'd rather not compete with my own inventory. So no, not at this time.

Unfortunately, the same situation happened again after 5 years. I couldn't finish a transaction at CafePress
Five years ago, the reason was they were not shipping to Indonesia and this time, they couldn't authorize my payment. I have used PayPal and Credit Card and both failed.
This is the same credit card used to buy items in Slackware Store last year and they are valid....

Good choice! That kindergarten logo is most appropriate for childen's wear.

(Sorry, couldn't help it. :) Yes, I know, we all have our own opinions and every one has different taste, yada, yada, yada, but that is, without a doubt, the absolutely worst logo ever created for any product or service in the history of mankind. BTW, would love to be able to buy the same coffee mugs with the "real" Slackware logo).

What about a coffee mug with the official logo? I'll buy one with the new one but would prefer the old one. I need a backup for my Bill the Cat mug and it might as well be a Slackware one.

As opposed to the just one "store" under the "Get Slack" heading, perhaps putting links to both "stores" in the left panel of the main page of the slackware.com site might boost sales?

I just found the site because a Willy Post http://slackblogs.blogspot.com/2013/...are-store.html and there are a lot of things that now I want to buy that are not in the "official store".

After all this time, I can't believe people are still complaining about the 'flippy' logo!

Personally, I love it and I think some people need to grow a sense of slack.

I was a bit disappointed when PV caved in to public pressure and reverted to the old logo. What's the old saying? "F__k 'em if they can't take a joke."

Unfortunately, our network access at work has been limited due to a large data transfer taking place, so I can't access the CafePress website. But I'll certainly be checking it out tonight from home.

You need to be able to identify the "product" if you want to promote it... unless, of course, one is of the elitist frame of mind, that is, exclusionary to the point one has to wonder, why bother having a logo at all?

Only a Slackware user would have any idea this is suppose to say, Slackware.

You hate it, but think we should have a link to the cafepress page from the main site to promote it better? Some opinions are stranger than others, I guess.

I'm not sure why I'm bothering to debate a topic that was settled (I thought in your favor) long ago, but there are many recognizable logos that do not say the name of the product at all. You may not like it, but it _is_ easily identifiable.

Like it or not, "business is business," as they say, i.e., my heart is in the right place.:D As you like it, and have invested in it (inventory), I was suggesting you make the "store" easier to find in the hope of increasing your sales. :)

I do not want to start another thread on the same issue so I am asking here - is this store http://www.zazzle.com/classic_slackw...78914022094210 also recognized by Patrick? The reason I ask is that they have coffee mugs with an old logo. I like it more than new one. But if money would not go to Patrick or Slackware Inc. in general I would have to think about it.

I'm not running that one, and I don't remember giving permission to anyone to run it. It won't really bother me if you buy a new coffee mug there, though. :)
