This is my yearly reminder for business support of Slackware.

Has Slackware played a positive role in your financial success? If you have server or desktop systems running Slackware and those systems help you make money, then consider investing some of that profit to keep your business running strong with Slackware year after year.

If you want to use Slackware in your business in future years then consider supporting it financially today so it will still be available for your business to use tomorrow.

I have two clients using Slackware. I have my small client pay (donate) $120 per year ($10 per month) and my larger client pay $240 per year ($20 per month) for their use of Slackware. They save many times those small amounts each year just due to Slackware's reliability.

Contributions to Slackware (commercial or personal) can be sent to:

Attach a note to your check or money order stating that it is a contribution to Slackware.

Alternatively you may also use the Paypal Donate button in the top left corner of the website store.slackware.com.

The help navigation button at the top of the store's page will display their mailing and email addresses and telephone number if you need the contact information.

The same people in Brentwood California that run the Slackware Store also run the FreeBSD Mall. A Slackware contribution to their Sand Creek Drive address works also. It's all the same people.

Or if you don't want to use PayPal, use the donation item in the store.

I don't use Slackware for business and I have a personal DVD subscription but since it has been a while since the last stable release (and Pat still needs income) I just made a donation.

I made a (small) donation too. Unfortunately I do not have that much money to spend as I am getting a small pension and I am not earning that much. My business laptop runs Slackware 14.1 and I am mainly using the Calligra office suite for business planning. I recently switched back to Slackware as I found it to be reliable and straightforward to use.

Tracy, would you or Patrick prefer having one-off or monthly payments?

Would it be possible to set up recurring donations somehow? Via PayPal for example? I wouldn't mind sending a few bucks a month to volkerdi for all the awesome that Slackware is.

When you click any PayPal button and get to the page where you can enter an amount of money, there will be a checkbox next to it "Make This Recurring (Monthly)".

Hmm ... This might actually be a better idea than the DVD subscription that I currently have. Much as I like getting a shiny new DVD every year and a half (or so) I don't really need them.

I wonder if Pat sees more of the money via the PayPal button or the donation item on the website because if the latter perhaps I could request that the store to make the donation item "subscribable" at a user selected quantity. Or is there an even more efficient way to do this (i.e. less middle men taking a cut)?

Pat never shares financial details, so I have no idea about what happens with the proceedings of the donations and the Store purchases.
But I actually like the pile of CD's and DVD's on my cupboard. It is a piece of visible and tangible history. Most of them are still in their plastic wraps even. Museum materials!

Happy (personal) subscriber, here. I could use another t-shirt or two, as well.

I thought about adding a sweat shirt and a few more bumper stickers to my collection (subscriptions, t-shirts, bottle opener, baseball cap).

Almost wore mine today (Mayan calendar, 14.0 version), but opted for a long sleeve shirt instead (blustery day!).

Wore it yesterday for my climbing training.

I sorely need to get more t-shirts, the one I have is going the way of the golden boy.
