bumblebee again...

It's been awhile, but moving takes time.
I had a perfectly running system until I tried to upgrade to -current
I've finally got to the point where I can mess with this again.

I reinstalled 13.37_64bit, did a complete install minus KDE. The first thing I want to do is install bumblebee again. I am using these instructions install bumblebee

When I try to build libjpeg-turbo I get this error...
Code:
checking whether the C compiler works... no
configure: error: in `/tmp/SBo/libjpeg-turbo-1.2.1':
configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details
I look at the log and I have this....(sorry it's long, not sure what part is relevant)

Code:
This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

It was created by libjpeg-turbo configure 1.2.1, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.68. Invocation command line was

  $ ./configure --prefix=/opt/libjpeg-turbo --bindir=/opt/libjpeg-turbo/bin/32 --libdir=/opt/libjpeg-turbo/lib --build=i486-slackware-linux

My understanding is a C compiler is part of a complete install, so no I didn't install it after the system install.
Is it not included in a complete install?

Code:
CFLAGS='-m32 -O2 -march=i486 -mtune=i686'
This is the problem. I don't know much about Bumblebee (thankfully I don't have to use it) but you are trying to compile a 32-bit libjpeg-turbo on 64-bit Slackware. If you do not need 32-bit compatibility then do NOT pass COMPAT32=yes to any of the SlackBuilds -- doing so will set CFLAGS such that you will not be able to compile them on a pure 64-bit system. If you *do* need 32-bit compatibility then you will have to install Alien Bob's multilib packages first before you will be able to compile 32-bit binaries.

I guess I misunderstood the directions...I took it to mean I needed the "COMPAT32=yes" if running pure 64bit...

I'll try again...

Thanks T3slider, I'll see if it works....

That fixed that issue, now to the next one...
When building nvidia-bumblebee I get this error
Code:
tar: /root/Downloads/nvidia-bumblebee/nvidia-settings-304.22.tar.bz2: Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
Where does one get this file? I did a google search and couldn't find it.

See here -- all of the required downloads are listed in the .info files. The file you want is here.

Thanks T3slider, those files did the trick.
I installed using the nouveau drivers because I could not find the files you linked to. All I got was error after error.
Now using the 304.22 drivers all appears to be working correctly...
